Edna Mae Bauers Carroll, 86 of Beloit passed peacefully at her home on Friday, July 29, 2016 surrounded by family members.  She was born in Pleasant Valley, Kentucky on June 18, 1930 to William and Mabel (Phillips) Bauers.  Following her marriage she moved from Pleasant Valley to Beloit in 1960.  Edna was a graduate of Morehead State College and was a school teacher in Carter County Kentucky and West Branch Local Schools.  She was a life member of Grahn Baptist Church in Kentucky and was very active in Damascus Friends Church, where she served as the chair of Caring and Sharing, was a member of Better Together, served for many years on the funeral committee and was a member of the Fidelis Sunday school class.  Edna enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, visiting friends and loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her son William S. (Lisa) Carroll of Beloit; three daughters Susan I. Caroll of Mt. Airy, Maryland, Dr. Sarah M. Carroll and her husband Dennis DeLuca of Haverhill, Massachusetts, Stella M. Haidet of Beloit; four grandchildren Erika (Stephen) Caffrey, David Carroll, Samantha Haidet, Conner Bennett; one great grandchild Jacob Caffrey.  She is also survived by three brothers Charles (Beverly Fielding) Bauers of Ashland, Kentucky, Harold (Joann) Bauers of Pleasant Valley, Kentucky and Roy Cecil (Erika) Bauers of Columbus, Georgia, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many who knew her as “Nana” and “Mom”.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband “the love of her life” Stearl “Amos” Carroll whom she married in 1960 and who preceded her in death on November 11, 1983, a sister Edra Barker and a brother James Curtis Bauers.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at the Globe Funeral Home in Olive Hill, Kentucky.  Local arrangements include visitation at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home in Sebring on Monday August 1, 2016 from 6-8 PM. Burial will take place at Olive Hill Kentucky. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Edna’s honor to Alliance Hospice/VNA 2461 W. State St. Alliance, OH 44601.   Friends may send condolences and sign the guest register online at www.grfuneralhome.com.  Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home Sebring, OH (330) 938-2526.
