Edward Braidic

Edward Braidic, 85, of Sebring, died at his home on Wednesday, Jan. 2nd, 2008. He was born in Alliance on Nov. 11, 1922, the son of Mathew & Lucille (Gregovich) Braidic. Ed spent most of his life in Sebring Mr. Braidic was a WW II U.S. Navy Veteran serving on the Destroyer Escort, the USS Blue from 1943 to 1946. Ed retired from the Morgan Engineering Company after 37 years, where he was employed as Superintendent of the Erection Floor. Retiring in 1984 he spent his retirement playing golf, traveling, bowling, playing bridge, and many hours in his favorite hobby, cooking. He’ll be especially remembered for his super carrot cake which he was always happy to donate wherever needed. Ed was an active member of St. Ann’s Church in Sebring, serving as an Altar Server. He was also an honorary life time member of the Knights of Columbus and a Past Grand Knight. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Ruth (Carrier) Braidic, a sister Kathryn Fairbanks, three daughters, Karen (Bill) Monbeck and Mary Ann Thomas both of Stow, and Lorraine (Mark) Cruse of Cincinnati, three sons; Edward (Diane) Braidic and Michael Braidic both of Sebring and Joseph (Diane) Braidic of Pandora. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren He was preceded in death his parents Matthew and Lucy Braidic;, sisters Margaret Herman, Frnaces Fugate, Dorothy Ardale, brother George Braidic and Son-in-law Jay D. Thomas. The family will receive friends at the Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home in Sebring at 126 W. Vermont Ave., on Friday Jan. 4, 2008 from 2 to 8 PM with the family present from 6 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Ann’s Church in Sebring on Saturday Jan. 5th at 10: 00 A.M. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Ann’s Building Fund, 203 S. 15th Street, Sebring, Ohio 44672. Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home.
