Edward Ray Fortune Jr., 75, of Sebring passed away March 7, 2012 at home. Edward was born in Akron, Ohio on September 8, 1936 the son of Edward and Mabel Fortune. He was a graduate of Stow High School and served 15 years in the US Army with three tours of duty in Vietnam, earning many awards including the bronze star. Ed loved all his children including the many special children he and his wife Martha adopted. Survivors include his wife; Martha (Brock) Fortune of Sebring whom he married on December 11, 1972, a son Timothy (Deborah) Fortune of Hampton, VA, daughter Cynthia Willis of Sebring, son James (Michelle) Fortune of Malvern, son Edmund R. (Julia) Fortune of Childersburg, AL, son Steven (Sandy) Fortune of Alliance, daughter Teresa Fortune of Alliance, son Richard Fortune of Alliance, son Steven Fortune of Colorado, and his other children; Donte, Carlisha, Kayla, Kai, Carter, Jeni, Donovan, David, Cody, Desaree and Ty-Shon Fortune all of the home.. Edward is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; 2 sisters Sandy Vargo of Homeworth, and Carol Titus of Pensacola FL. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Joseph James in January of 2010. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Sebring Church of the Nazarene at 11:00 AM with Pastor Mike Kimball officiating. Burial will take place in Grandview Cemetery in Sebring. Friends may call at the church the hour prior to the service. Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home.
