Edwin Mcfarland

Edwin “Ed” E. McFarland, 94, of Salem and formerly of Hubbard died Wednesday, Oct. 17th at The Courtyard in Salem. Edwin was born April 1, 1913 in Sharon. PA, to the late Fred Douglas and Ruth Ann (Rankin) McFarland. A US Army Veteran Edwin served as a Staff Sergeant with the 413th Armored Field Artillery Battalion in WWII and retired as a supervisor for Ohio Edison. Survivors include; his niece Linda Nixon of Hammond, NY two nephews; John Percy of Austintown and Ronald McFarland of Salem with whom Ed resided. Edwin was preceded in death by his parents a brother Francis and a sister Bonita. Private Family Services will be held at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Clark officiating, Burial will be in Haywood Cemetery in West Middlesex, PA. Memorial contributions can be made in Edwin’s honor to Columbiana Baptist Church 44420 Heck Road, Columbiana, OH 44408.
