Eleanor J. Sosnick, 80, formerly of Clearwater, FL and North Benton passed away at her home on Saturday, October 23, 2010. Eleanor was born on January 4, 1930 in North Benton the daughter of the late Millard “Buck” and Ruth (Malmsberry) Ailes; she was a graduate of Mount Union College in 1971 and received her Masters Degree from Kent State University. Eleanor was a teller at the former 1st National Bank in Sebring; she was a member of the North Benton Presbyterian Church and taught 6th Grade and Math in the West Branch School District Middle School. She retired from teaching in 1992; she was a member of the Retired Teachers NEOEA and a member of the former Sebring Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Sosnick loved to bowl and was an avid sports fan she loved to watch West Branch Girls Basketball and Mt. Union Football. Survivors include her two daughters; Susan Sosnick and her fiancé Don Patton of Freedom, PA, Patricia (John) Domino of North Ridgeville, OH a son Michael (Paula) Sosnick of Beloit and four grandchildren Greg (Amy) Domino, Kristen Domino, Michele Sosnick, Stephen Sosnick and a sister in law Eleanor (Nick) Hannison of Champion, OH. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Thad J. Sosnick on October 6, 2000, a sister Helen R. Ailes in 1992 and two brothers Richard “Bud” Ailes in 1975 and John E. Ailes in 1976. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home at 1:00 PM with Rev. John Ryser officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2-9 PM with the family present from 6-9 PM. Burial will take place in Grandview Cemetery on Sebring. Memorial contributions can be made in Eleanor’s honor to the American Heart Association. Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home.
