Elizabeth (Willett) Boehm

June 17, 1917 — February 11, 2018

Elizabeth Willett Boehm passed away peacefully on February 11th at the age of 100 in Little River, S. C. She lived in Sebring most of her life. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Alliance, and had more recently attended the Sebring Friends Church.

Elizabeth graduated from Sebring High School and received her teaching degree from Kent State University. She was a much-loved teacher for over forty years, teaching in Leetonia, Lincoln, N. Benton, Riley, and Maple Ridge.

She was born on June 17, 1917 to the late John and Rena Willett of Sebring. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Boehm, after 48 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by a son, John Frederick Boehm of Greer, S. C. and by a sister, Lois Malmsberry of Sebring. Elizabeth is survived by a daughter-in-law, Annette Boehm of Greer, S. C. and two grandchildren, Jason Boehm of Chicago and Amanda Boehm of Haleiwa, Hawaii. She also has one surviving nephew, Gail Malmsberry of Sebring.

The last few years of her life were spent in Little River where she enjoyed spending time with friends and family, and where she attended King of Glory Lutheran Church. She mostly enjoyed being with others, reading the Bible, and reading Amish novels. She will always be remembered for her kind and cheerful Christian spirit, always putting others before herself.

Special thanks are extended to Summit Place Retirement Home in Little River for all the special care Elizabeth was given. Also, thanks go to Palladium Hospice for the wonderful care shown her the last few weeks.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 16th at 1:00 at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown funeral home in Sebring. The funeral service will be held immediately afterwards at 2:00 in the chapel with Mr. Robert McNutt presiding. Burial will follow at Sebring Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Elizabeth’s memory to The Gideons International, Greer Camp, PO Box 861 in Greer, S. C. 29652.
