Ellen Lamp Makin

Ellen Lamp Makin, 77 of Alliance, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at Alliance Community Hospital. Mrs. Makin was born in Salem the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Sommers) Reed on June 12, 1932. Ellen enjoyed spending time with her family and friends but especially her grandchildren. Ellen is survived by her; husband Harold “Sonny” Makin of Alliance whom she married July 10, 1990. a daughter, Sharon (Fred) Smith of Alliance, three sons; John (Rosemary) Lamp of Alliance, Robert (Tracy) Lamp of Canton, Rodney (Tammy) Lamp of Alliance, 15 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, two stepsons rich Makin of Damscus and Mike Makin of Alliance. She is also survived by a sister Mary Hutton of Ephrata, PA, a brother Bill (Martha) Reed of Salem and a sister Jeanie Ketchum of Salem. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers; Richard and June and two sisters; Shirley and Barbara and a grandson Matthew. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2009 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery in Salem.
