Elma Blance ((Young)) Iddings

Elma Blance (Young) Iddings, 93, of Beloit, went home to be with her Lord on October 20, 2015 after a short illness. She was born in Ellsworth, Ohio on April 9, 1922, to the late Frank and Lena (Kille) Young. She attended Berlin Center Schools.

Elma was a member of Community Bible Church, Beloit, since 1959. She served for 50 years as a Deaconess, 19 years as a Sunday School Teacher and for 12 years she assisted with crafts for Vacation Bible School. She loved her sisters and brothers in Christ especially her pastor and his wife Eileen Doran.

Elma served 30 years as a Presiding Judge in voting for Knox Township in Westville. She was a 60 year member of Smith Grange where she served as Ceries for many years. She enjoyed making flower arrangements every year for the Smith Grange booth at the Canfield Fair. Elma also enjoyed serving at the public dinners and banquets. She loved her gardening especially her flowers.

Elma is survived by her daughter Lena (Darrel) Fox of New Middletown; two sons Jack of Beloit, and Gene (Barb) of Tampa Florida; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren; a brother Paul Young of Texas and two sister-in-law’s Bertha L. Young and Marlene Young both of Berlin Center.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harold (Bill) Iddings whom she married on February 24, 1946 and passed away on March 7, 1987. She was also preceded in death by her siblings Florence Talbot, Dorothy Cain, Elmer Young, Mary Eshler, Thelma May Penrod, Edith Hetrick, Urban Young and Frank Young.

Elma’s family would like to thank Lisa Taylor for five years of dedication as Elma’s caregiver.

A funeral service will be held at Community Bible Church in Beloit on Saturday October 24, 2015 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Rod Doran officiating. Friends and family may call one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park.  Friends may send condolences and sign the register book online at www.grfuneralhome.com.  Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home Sebring, OH (330) 938-2526.
