Elmer L. Hardy Sr., age 87, of Homeworth passed away Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007, at 3:35 AM at Crandall Medical Center. He was born April 12, 1919 to the late Earl and Olive (Donnley) Hardy. Elmer was a WWII Army Veteran. He was a school bus driver for the Goshen & West Branch school district for 25 years, and a retired farmer. He was formerly employed as a mechanic for Gause Equipment for 9 years, John Denny Farm Equipment and Cope Farm Equipment He is survived by his wife Alice D. (Kraft) Hardy whom he married on October 17, 1942; 5 daughters , Joyce (Don) Ray of Aurora, Colorado; Diana (Jack) Woods of Atwater; Shirley (Clay) Vernon of Beloit; Terrie (Mike) Hippely of San Antonio, Florida; Karen (Dale) Karlen of Salem; 2 sons Kenneth (Kathy ) Hardy of Atwater and Elmer (Lynn) Hardy Jr. of Beloit; 2 sisters Esther Jackson of Canton and Helen Ferguson of Scottdale, Pa., 2 brothers George Hardy of Homeworth and Merle Hardy of Florida; 22 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, 5 sisters and 1 brother. Family Memorial Services will be held at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Sunday, Jan 14, 2007. A committal service will be at North Georgetown Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to donorâs charity of choice.
