Elmer Rosler

Elmer Charles Rosler Elmer C. Rosler 80, of Alliance passed away Friday, Oct. 19th at his home. He was born June 11, 1927 in Alliance, Ohio to John and Regina (Richter) Rosler. He was a graduate of Alliance High School. Elmer was a life member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church where he was served as head usher. A U.S. Army Veteran, Elmer served in the army of occupation as a corporal in the 7th Calvary Regiment in Tokyo, Japan. Upon returning from the service, he graduated from the Canton Beauty School in Canton, Ohio and then from the M. Louis Hair Design Institute in New York City. He owned and operated beauty salons in Salem and Alliance for over 20 years. Elmer also attended night trade school, completing a mathematics course of study. He then received a 2 year degree from ICS Engineering School. He worked in the engineering field for over 25 years, retiring from the Babcock and Wilcox Research Company in Barberton, Ohio from the Engineering Department in 1992. Elmer was preceded ion death in 2005 by his beloved wife, Grace, to whom he was married for 48 years. He is survived by his son, Vance (Barb) Rosler, of Uniontown and by his daughter, Elma Lou Rosler, of Alliance. He is also survived by grandchildren Leah, Ben, Lucas and Isaac. In addition to his children, Elmer is survived by his brother, Henry, of St. Louis, Missouri and brothers, John and Arthur, both of Alliance. He is also survived by a number of special nieces, nephews and in-laws. Elmer was also preceded in death by his sister, Leona (Rosler) McNeil. Services will be held at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Alliance on Saturday, Oct. 27th at 11:00AM with Pastor Frank Gross Jr. officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Alliance.
