Emil Mathison

Emil P. Mathison, 76 of Marysville, OH and formerly of Alliance passed away at Heartland Rehabilitation Center on Thursday, April 17, 2014. Emil was born in Alliance on May 26, 1937 the son of the late Lorentz I. and Alice (Sanford) Mathison; he was a graduate of Alliance High School and retired from Honda of America. He attended First Immanuel United Church of Christ and enjoyed many sports teams and keeping up with the latest news.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years Lavonia “Lee” (Rowe) Mathison whom he married on October 14, 1962, three daughters, Joyce Mason of Pennsylvania, Debra Mathison Crook of Upper Arlington, Melissa Coates of London, OH and 5 grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers; Victor Mathison of Alliance, Fred Taylor of Illinois and two sisters Sharlene Schenk and Karen Orr both of Alliance. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Joan Haines and two brothers Bill and Henry Mathison.
A funeral service will take place at 12:00 PM on Monday, April 21, 2014 at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home in Sebring; with Pastor Neal Mann officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Grandview Cemetery in Sebring.
