Ernest W. Leedy Jr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and faithful servant of Christ, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on May 14, 1943, he was a cherished son of the late Ernest Sr. and Winifred Leedy. He was also preceded in death by his brother Bill Leedy, granddaughter Emily Ohlinger, brother-in-law Tom Holland, and his parents-in-law Jack and Jean Strimel.

Ernie is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce, who stood by his side through every joy and challenge of life. Together, they built a family grounded in love and mutual respect. He leaves behind his dear children: daughter Pamm (Ray) Ohlinger, and son Steve (Angela). Ernie found immense joy in his grandchildren: Elyse, Ian, Ty, and Ellie Ohlinger, Myra, Aaron, Ruby, and Etta Leedy, each a treasured part of his life.

His surviving siblings, who shared many precious memories with him, include sister Joy Snyder (Darrell), brother John Leedy (Laurel), sister-in-law Donna Leedy, sisters Kathi Holland, Debbie Blend (Jerry) and his brother-in-law Jay Strimel (Janet). Their love and support have always been a cornerstone of his life.

Ernie dedicated his career to education, profoundly impacting countless lives as a teacher, coach, mentor, and later, as an elementary principal in Canton City Schools. His passion for teaching and coaching was evident in everything he did, and he left an enduring mark on his students and colleagues. His dedication extended far beyond the classroom, shaping the lives of many with his wisdom, kindness, and unwavering support.

Ernie's faith in Christ was the foundation of his life. A long-standing member of Whipple Heights Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, he served his church community with dedication and love. His Bible, filled with personal notes and reflections, is a testament to his deep spiritual life and commitment to scripture.

Ernie's legacy is one of love, faith, and dedication. He will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and the profound impact he had on those who knew him. His absence leaves a void that can never be filled, but his memory will continue to inspire and uplift all who were fortunate enough to know him.
