Esther Hickerson

Esther “Jackie” R. Hickerson age 58, of Sebring, died at 3:06 PM, Sunday, May 18, 2008, at Alliance Community Hospital. She was born in Berlin Center on April 21, 1950 the daughter of the late Mivert “Tobe” James Barnes and Louise (Howe) Barnes. Jackie worked for LK Restaurants, served as Activities Director for Horizon Meadows, and worked in the Dietary Department of Green Meadows in Louisville. She also enjoyed spending her free time with her family and friends. Mrs. Hickerson is survived by her two sisters; Linda Prendergast and Shirley Morrison, a brother Donald Barnes all of Alliance, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Russell Ray Hickerson on Feb. 3, 1988, two brothers Buster Barnes and Paul Barnes, a niece Angie Weidow and a brother-in-law Keith Prendergast. Services will be held at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home, Thursday, May 22, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Chester Bryant officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday at the Funeral Home from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM with the family present from 6-8 PM. Interment will be at St. Johns Cemetery in Collier, WV.
