Floyd A. Hendershot, age 58, of Beloit, died on Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at Alliance Community Hospital. He was born in Ravenna, Ohio on June 7, 1949, the son of the late Jay and Betty (Morrison) Hendershot Floyd was a member of the Damascus Friends Church. He was employed for ten years, as a receiving clerk, at the Alliance Lowes Store. He was a former police officer in Ravenna from 1973-1975. Floyd received an Accommodation for Bravery for saving the lives of a family, from a fire in Ravenna. He was a West Branch Warrior Sports fanatic, especially football and girls basketball. He was a graduate of Atwater High School class of ’67 and attended Kent State University Mr. Hendershot is survived by his wife Deanna (Close) Hendershot whom he married on January 27, 1990. Survivors also include his daughter Stephanie (Rich) Moskal of Kent; step daughter Erin (Bill) Jordan of Phoenix, AZ; two stepsons Andy Phillips of Pickerington, Ohio and John Phillips of Baltimore, Ohio; one sister Margaret (Felix) DeBolt of Sebring and one brother Dean (Patty) Hendershot of Homeworth. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Larry Hendershot in June, 1999 Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 3, 2008 at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Rev. John Ryser and Rev. Rick Sams officiating. Burial will be in Atwater Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 2 p.m. to 8.pm., with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m... Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home.
