Floyd “Keith” Prendergast, age 56, of Alliance passed away at 6:38 PM, Monday June 25, 2007 at home, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his wife and loving family. He was born in Salem, Ohio on June 20, 1951 to Floyd and Barbara (Powell) Prendergast of Sebring. Keith was employed at the Carnation Mall for 14 ½ years as a carpenter and maintenance man, he was a member of the Alliance Fraternal Order of Eagles Club # 2174 and was a trustee for many years. He was on the bowling league at Christopher Columbus which he enjoyed for many years. He enjoyed shooting pool, hunting, fishing and being out in the woods. And one of his favorite things was listening to the rain coming down on a tin roof. His favorite pasttime was feeding the birds and watching them from his chair by the window. In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife of 14 ½, years Linda (Barnes) Prendergast.; son Addam Keith Prendergast of Sebring; daughters Jackie Lynn Percy of Indiana; Michelle Prendergast of Arkansas; step children Thomas James Weidow of Canton,; Timothy Weidow of Alliance; Kimberly Schott of Alliance; brothers William Prendergast of Beloit; Richard Prendergast of Dallas, Texas and half sister Becky Foster of Youngstown. He dearly loved his many grandchildren and will be sadly missed by them. He was known as their “Pap Pap”. He was preceded in death by his sister Anna Prendergast, brother Dwaine Prendergast and a step daughter Angie Weidow Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, June 29, 2007 at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home, with the Rev. Chester Bryant officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM with the family present from 7-9. Keith will be laid to rest at the Ellsworth Cemetery in Ellsworth, Ohio Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home.
