Floyd Woolf Jr

Floyd Woolf Jr., 86, of Alliance passed away on Friday, January 31, 2014, at Roselawn Terrace of Alliance. Floyd was born in Beloit on December 16, 1927, the son of the late Floyd and Bernice (Reed) Woolf, and served in the US Army Air Corps. A lifelong area resident, Floyd worked as an auto mechanic and retired from the Village of Sebring City Service Department. He was a life member of the Sebring American Legion, served as the assistant scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 77 of Sebring, was a 57 year member of The Forty and Eight, served as Grand Voiture of Ohio, and past Grand Chef of Ohio and also served as a national officer.
Survivors include three sons Frank A. Woolf of Alliance, Michael J. (Barbara) Woolf of Alliance and Stephen F. (Christine) Woolf of Louisville; six grandchildren Jonathon (Deanna) Woolf, Christopher (Carli) Woolf, Anthony (Deidra) Woolf, Katie, Emily and Annie Woolf, one great grandson Grayson and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Lois J. (Igro) Woolf, with whom he celebrated 61 years of marriage on September 20, a daughter Mary Ann, two sisters Helen and Jean, and three brothers Robert, James and Darwin.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 5, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Sams officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday February 4, 2014 from 6-8 PM and the hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Sebring. Military honors will be provided by the Salem Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Floyd’s honor to American Legion Post 76, 395 W. California Ave. Sebring, OH 44672.
