Forrest G. Kimes Jr., age 60, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday Nov. 30th at Mercy Medical Center. He was born May 20, 1946 in Canton. Forrest was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest Sr. and Izola (Johnson) Kimes and by a sister, Sandra Ramsey. Forrest was a commited family man and a life long resident of Homeworth. A Marlington High School graduate, he retired in 2001 from the Ashland Oil Refinery in Canton, after 23 years of employment. He was a kind and generous man who would help anyone in need. His many interest included wood working, gardening and renovating his rental properties. In his younger years Forrest won numerous trophies for racing. He was a loving and caring man who will be sadly missed by his wife, Peggy (Greenawalt) Kimes, a son Kevin Kimes of the home and a daughter and son in-law Heather & Eric Fockler of N. Canton. Forrest will also leave behind his beloved grandson, Wesley B. Fockler. Other survivors include his sister and brother-in law Darlene (Dale) Sampson of Homeworth and many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday December 4, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home in Sebring with Rev. Delania Kaiser officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call 1 hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Mt. Carmel Church of Homeworth or his favorite kidâs organization, Toys for Tots, every year Forrest donated toys for the needy children as he was one once.
