Franklin Dean Walizer, 89, of Sebring and formerly of Alliance passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Crandall Medical Center. Dean was born on June 6, 1933 in Sebring, Ohio to the late John H. "Jack" and Frances (Patrick) Walizer. Dean was a 1951 graduate of Alliance High School and after graduation he joined the United States Air Force. He served as Crew Chief on Douglas A26 Invader in Korea and returned back to Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina and served as Crew Chief on Martin RB57 Canberra. After serving in the Air Force he was co-owner of the Genetin and Walizer Shell Station for over 35 years and then worked at Mount Union in the Fleet and Grounds Department until his retirement. After retirement Dean and his wife Jeannine moved to Florida for five years until they returned back to Alliance. In his free time Dean enjoyed hunting, following Mount Union Football and spending time with his friends and family.
Left to cherish Dean's memory is his children Daryl (Barbara) Walizer of Alliance and Craig (Tina) Walizer of Indianapolis, Indiana; step-children Joseph (LuAnn) Tucker of Lakewood, OH, Patricia (Matt) Lansell of Alliance and Mark Tucker of Alliance; a sister Kay (Jim) Paumier of Alliance and a brother Donald (Alvina) Walizer of Morgan Hill, California. He is also survived by many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. Besides his parents Dean was preceded in death by his wife Jeannine (McCann) Walizer and his step-dad Norman Marty.
Per Dean's wishes no services will take place and burial will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Crandall Medical Center and Aultman-Alliance Hospice for their care and compassion that they showed to Dean.
