Freda Schubert

Freda Buckey Schubert, 107 of Sebring and formerly of Wellsville died Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Crandall Medical Center in Sebring. Mrs. Schubert was born in Ava, Ohio, on June 17, 1901, one of five children of the late Elisha and Minnie (Dennis) Buckey. Freda graduated from Salineville High School, she attended Kent Normal College in Kent, OH, Muskingham College in New Concord, OH and she received her B.S. in Education from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA. Freda was in the education field for 52 years in the Salineville/Wellsville area. Most of them in the Southern local district, she taught grades 1 through 8 and served as a Principal. Freda resided at Copeland Oaks since 1993 where she was surrounded by her many good friends. Mrs. Schubert is survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Frank Schubert in 1970 and her four siblings. A Graveside service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Woodland Cemetery in Salineville. A Memorial Service will be held at Copeland Oaks, Bennett Chapel on Saturday, April 18th at 2:00 PM with Rev. Roy Walther Officiating.
