Gail Lee Malmsberry best known to his friends as GL, passed from these earthly chains to perfection on February 21, 2024. Born March 2, 1935, he was about to celebrate his 48th birthday, again! Born to parents Virgil and Lois, he was a Birthright Quaker, raised in Sebring, Ohio.
Gail graduated from Louisville High School and then attended Taylor University. He left Taylor University and enrolled at the Cleveland Bible Institute (later becoming Malone University). He taught at West Branch High School until he retired.
He had a deeply personal relationship with Jesus Christ. His relationship with Jesus Christ spilled over on anyone around him. One of GL's greatest joy came as a Sunday school teacher and youth group sponsor in the Friends Church denomination; specifically, the Salem First Friends and Sebring Friends congregations. He was a brother, mentor and leader. Devoted to endless prayer and sacrifice to the needs of Christ, his faith grew till the very end of his days. Please find his life as a servant an inspiration of the love of a generous Father that gave his Son to save us from the worst fate. Jesus Christ in Heaven is real, and he will save you. GL is with him now.
With never a boring moment, we remember a man that had many interests and experiences. Many of his friends will remember his 1965 Ford Galaxy XL convertible driving in homecoming parades. GL was an avid photographer that was there to capture the youth camps, retreats, concerts, and any special event. He was an accomplished musician playing the piano and organ. No one can forget the bike trips, pedaling away to parts unknown. He collected coins and had a love of model railroading. He was quick to share these connections to bridge his faith to share with others. Constantly giving to further the interests of the Kingdom Of Christ.
We will remember GL with fondness and thank him for being a brother in Christ. The years were not easy, but it was a life worth living, a road worth walking, a race worth running and a prize worth everything we could possibly imagine. Well done to this servant. Enjoy. Memorial contributions can be made in his honor to Friends Serving, 615 South Johnson Road, Sebring, OH 44672.
