George Anthony

George T. Anthony, 80, of Beloit, passed away on June 29, 2013 at home surrounded by his wife and children. George was born on December 17, 1932, in Kittanning, Pennsylvania, the son of the late George E. and Gertrude (Templeton) Anthony. He was a US Air Force Veteran. George has been an area resident for 35 years, coming from Struthers, Ohio. He was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ, Teamsters Local, Beloit Historical Society, the NRA and a 30 year member of the Beloit Ruritans. George enjoyed playing cards, hunting, camping, traveling, working in his garage on many projects, was an antique car buff, and loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. George is survived by his wife Delora Anthony, sons, Michael (Norma) Anthony of Struthers, Charles Scott (Connie) Anthony of Boardman, Kevin (Holly) Anthony of North Lima, Rodrick J. (Julie) Hoopes of Lower Salem, Robbin S. (Richard) Hoopes of Cincinnati; daughters, Patricia Moore of Struthers, Theresa (Charles) Dunfee of Colorado, Kathleen Anthony of Struthers, Wanda (Bill) Humphrey of Homeworth, Jacqueline (Tom) Sanor of Salem, Connie Larsen of Beloit; 33 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Jean Rood and a brother Richard Anthony. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by a brother James Anthony, three grandsons Brad Hoopes, twins James and Jeffrey Hoopes and an infant granddaughter Hoopes. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday July 6, 2013 at Bethel United Church of Christ 25701 Buck Rd. Beloit, OH 44609. Memorial contributions may be made in George’s honor to the Hospice of the Valley 5190 Market St. Youngstown, Ohio 44512 or the National Rifle Association of America 11250 Waples Mill Road Fairfax, VA 22030.
