George Maeluk, formerly of Sebring, OH, passed away on January 1, 2025, in Alliance, Ohio, at the age of 102. He was born on May 22, 1922, in Amesville, New York, to William and Katarzyna (Radyka) Maceluch.
George and his brother Pete owned a Texaco gas station in Alliance, OH. He also worked at Transue Williams while the bulk of his career was spent working several different positions at Alliance Manufacturing, where he served until his retirement in 1984.
A proud veteran, George served in the United States Army during World War II in the European theater, specifically Germany. His unit held reunions in the 1990's and 2000's and he looked forward to traveling to them with his wife and then his daughter to reconnect with his "Army buddies." He was quite honored to have participated in the Honor Flight program and frequently talked about how much he enjoyed the trip and meeting fellow veterans.
George was a former member of the Dante Alighieri Club, the Christopher Columbus Lodge, and the former Sebring VFW. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, card playing and gardening. These pursuits not only provided enjoyment but also allowed him to forge connections and friendships that enriched his life.
George is survived by his daughter, Cynthia (Robert) Collins of Florida; daughter, Carol (Michael) Stuller of Alliance and son, Craig (Wanda) Maeluk of Florida. He is survived by four grandchildren: Matthew (Jeannie) Stuller, Nancy Stuller, Caitlin (John) Herrmann, and Christopher Collins, as well as great-grandchildren, Leo Franklin and Mia Kathryn Herrmann, Thomas Christo Jr. Katelyn (Michael) Van Norstran, and Megan Christo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his devoted wife, Kathryn A. (Pagnucco) Maeluk, to whom he was married for 55 years; and five siblings: Olga Wood, Eli "Pete" Maceluch, Joseph Maceluch, Thomas Maceluch, and Ann Kazimer. George also had three half-siblings who have passed: Della White, Bogdan Maceluch, and Myroslaw Maceluch.
