Gertrude Rosemary Ceresna, 88, of Alliance went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July, 30, 2011 at Canterbury Villa of Alliance. Gertrude was born on March 31, 1923 in East Palestine, Ohio the daughter of the late William Henry and Edna (Chaplow) Canfield; she was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Salem and enjoyed signing and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her husband Paul Ceresna Sr. of Alliance, a son Paul (Debra) Ceresna of North Benton, three daughters; Gemma Heestand of Lowell, MI, Nancy Newton and June Treharn, 17 grandchildren; Bryan, Paul, Dylan and Chelsea Ceresna, Charmane Bailey, Kim Schukert, Candace Fox, James and Rick Heastand, Amy Hinerman, Paula Faulkner, Lee, William, Paula and Christine Funkhouser, Candace Fox, Kati Newton, several great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Besides her parents Gertrude was preceded in death by a son Lee Funkhouser, two grandsons David Treharn Jr. and Donald Funkhouser, a sister Elma Chaplow Knight and a brother Ranger William Canfield Jr. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home in Sebring at 11AM. Friends may call at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home on Tuesday, the hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Grandview Cemetery in Sebring. Friends may send condolences and sign the guest register online at www.grfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home.
