Gordon H. Gibbons, 83, of Sebring, passed away on September 3, 2013 at Alliance Community Hospital. He was born on July 24, 1930 in Salem, Ohio the son of the late Brinton and Ethel (Toole) Gibbons. A lifelong area resident, he was a member of the VFW, American Legion and was a Korean War Veteran. Gordon loved bowling, fishing, golfing, horseshoes, vacationing in Hawaii and spending time with his family. He was an avid Browns and Indians fan. Gordon is survived by three sons, Tim Gibbons of Sebring, Scott (Patty) Gibbons of Alliance, Eric (Shelly) Gibbons of Alliance; three daughters Cathy (Ron) McKibben of Chillicothe, Lori (Scott) Wilson of Salem, Julie (Guy) Takamori of Hawaii; fifteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother Raymond Gibbons of Pennsylvania and two sisters Treva Elder of Virginia and Ruth Lyberger of Alliance. In addition to his parents, Gordon was preceded in death by his loving wife Janet (Eckenroth) Gibbons and seven brothers, Eldon, Wilson, Bruce, Dale, Ralph, Donnie, and infant Louis. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday September 6, 2013 at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Kimball officiating.
