Harold S. Shreve, 87 of Beloit passed away at Community Care Center in Alliance on Sunday, November 9, 2014. Harold was born in Damascus the son of the Late Clifton and Marie (Stanley) Shreve. He was a lifelong farmer, a member of East Goshen Friends Church and worked for over 20 years as a custodian for West Branch Schools. He enjoyed gardening and raising dairy calves.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years Evelyn (Smith) Shreve whom he married on March 16, 1955 of Beloit, a daughter Linda (James) Higgins of North Benton, four grandchildren; Racheal Shreve of Missouri, Anna Shreve of Beloit, Erin Thurnes and Heather Nye both of Maryland and seven great grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son Ray in 2004 and his four brothers Dale, Lynn, Lowell and Omar.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 1:00PM at East Goshen Friends Church with Rev. Gerald Baker officiating. Visitation will be held the hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will take place at East Goshen Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in his honor to East Goshen Friends Church 16800 South Range Road, Beloit, OH 44609. Friends may send condolences and sign the guest register online at www.grfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home.
