Harriet (Berger) Morris, 87, of Alliance, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away, Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Alliance Community Hospital. Harriet was born in North Georgetown on March 9, 1922 the daughter of the late Walter J. and Huldah (Forney) Berger. Mrs. Morris graduated from Goshen High School in the class of 1939 and Canton Actual Business School; she retired from the office at Alliance Builder’s Supply. During her lifetime she was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in North Georgetown, where she sang in the choir, was the Sunday School Secretary, taught Sunday school class, was the teacher of “The Children of the Church” youth group, was a past treasurer if the Luther League, as well as a church greeter. She was made a life member of the Church Missionary Society by her late sister Lois, and Harriet remained active in various other church functions. She was also a member of the Salem Saxon Club, the Alliance Senior Center, the T & W retirees club, the Alliance Senior Citizen Club, a past member of the Modern Homemakers Club and the Coronet Card Club. Survivors include; her husband of 67 years Norman C. Morris whom she married on March 14, 1942, three daughters; Cindy Young of Alliance, Debbie (Greg) Bishop of Massillon, Rhonda (Mark Roose) Morris of Alliance, 2 grandchildren; Kristi (John) Golden of East Canton, Dustin Roose of Alliance a great grandson John Christopher Golden of East Canton and a brother Dale (Ann) Berger of Salem. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Lois Wuthrick and a brother Wendell Berger. Services will be held at The Emmanuel Lutheran Church in North Georgetown on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 12:00 PM with Pastor Carolyn Wagar-Hier officiating. Friends may call on Saturday the hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park.
