Harry "Jim" Hammond

Harry “Jim” Hammond, 75 of Salem passed away on February 8, 2011 at his home. Jim was born in Poland, Ohio on November 6, 1935 the son of the late John W. Hammond Sr. and Helen (Hughes) Hammond; he was a graduate of Sebring High School and worked at Ohio Tool & Drill in Homeworth and Pursky’s Supermarket. Jim was a member of the North Benton Presbyterian Church and was also a 60+ year member of Smith Grange where he served as Past Master and was also a long time member of the Salem Jubilee Barbershop Chorus. Survivors include his brother John W. (Sylvia) Hammond Jr. of North Benton, a nephew Michael (Colleen) Hammond, niece Rebecca (Earl) Wilson all of North Benton 1 great niece and 1 great nephew. A Memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 27th at 3:00 PM at the North Benton Presbyterian Church with Pastor David Black officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit. Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home. Friends may send condolences and sign the guest register online at www.grfuneralhome.com.
