Hazel Johnston

Hazel Mildred (Helsel) Johnston, 89 of Beloit passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Community Care Center in Alliance. Hazel was born on November 13, 1920 in Berlin Center the daughter of the late Frank W. and Bertha L. (Jewell) Helsel. Mrs. Johnston was a 1940 graduate of Alliance High School and was a member of the Alliance Salvation Army; she retired from the Alliance Nursing Home. Survivors include three sons; Albert J. (Shelly) Johnston Jr. of Alliance, Donald L. (Charlene) Johnston of Beloit, Ricky D. (Roxanne) Johnston of Beloit and a daughter Connie L. (David) Jones of Beloit and a sister Betty Flott of Canton. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Matthew J. (Melissa) Johnston, Benjamin S. (Michelle) Johnston, Ryan M. Casteel, Katelyn N. Mohr, Scott J. Johnston, Angela A. (Adam) Contino, Jennifer L. (Jason) Ring, Erika M. (Matt) Knopp. Trey Peters, Jason M. Johnston, Amy Sue Johnston, Ericka L. Jones, Sarah-beth (Ronald) Stratton, Molly Jones, 9 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Albert J. Johnston Sr. whom she married on Dec. 25, 1944 and was married for 33 years, he preceded in 1993, her four brothers Laverne, Olin, Earl and Charlie, sisters Christina and Charlotte Hively and a great grandson. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at 11AM at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 7-9PM.
