Hazel L. Close Kilchenman, 89, of Sebring died on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Crandall Medical Center. Hazel was born in Beloit on May 10, 1919 the daughter of the late William Francis Grove and Sarah Gertrude (Buckman) Grove. Hazel was a member of the Bunker Hill United Methodist Church, and a former member of Smith Grange and the Sebring Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include; her son Larry William (Jane) Close of Port Charlotte, FL, a daughter Barbara Ann (Denis) Karlen of Salem, a son George Lynn (Sandy) Close of Salem, a son Dale Ray (Marcia) Close of Beloit, and a son Bruce Warren ( Deanna) Close of Salem, 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She is also survived by; two sisters; Elizabeth Stoffer of Salem and Kathryn E. Kelly of Colorado, three brothers; Robert, George Grove both of North Georgetown and Clifford Grove of Homeworth, and four Step Children. Hazel was preceded in death by; her first husband William Close on Jan. 10, 1963, her second husband Frederick “Fritz” Kilchenman on Feb. 26, 1996, a daughter Avon Lea on August 26, 1945, a grandchild and four brothers; John, William, Clarkson and Alfred and two sisters; Lela and Ada. Services will be held on Friday, May 8, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home in Sebring with Rev. David Andrews officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, May 7, 2009 from 6 to 8 PM and the hour prior to the service on Friday. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery in Sebring. Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home, friends may send condolences and sign the guest register online at www.grfuneralhome.com.
