Helen May Stanley Williams was born on Jennings St. in Salem, OH on April 30, 1910, the daughter (oldest child) of Russell Jason Stanley and Nellie Saywell Stanley. The family later lived in Cuyahoga Falls and Mansfield, OH, before moving to Michigan. Helen graduated from High School in St. Clair Shores, MI in 1928. She went on to Central MI University located in Mt. Pleasant, obtaining her degree in Education. She taught all subjects for 4th & 5th grades in Jackson, MI for twenty seven years. She then moved to Whittier, Calif. in 1958 and taught similar classed for eighteen years, making a total of approximately forty five years. Helen was married to Harold Warner (deceased) of Jackson, MI in 1945 and to Winfield Williams (deceased) of California in 1959. They enjoyed trips to the Holy Land and other places until his death in 1994. Helen continued to live alone in LaMirada, CA until early this year. She is survived by two sisters: Ruth (Stanley) Douglas of Avon, OH and Loretta (Stanley) of St. Clair Shores, MI, and many nieces and nephews. Her brother, Edward Stanley, is deceased. Services will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Damascus Friends Church with Rev. Steve Lowe officiating. Friends may call at the church the hour prior to the service.
