Henry Edward Schnell, 87 of Salem passed away at Hospice House on Friday, May 3, 2013. Henry was born in Salem on March 31, 1926, the son of the late Michael and Susan (Schenn) Schnell. Henry served in the US Navy from 1944-1946 as a Seaman 1st class. He was the former owner/operator of Salem Blanking Corp. and a member of the Heritage Foundation. Survivors include his wife, Ellen âNinaâ (Kaisler) whom he married on September 14, 2007; a brother Charles Schnell of New Smyrna Beach, Florida; a sister Eleanor Patten of Saratoga, California and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by four sisters. Per his request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
