Hermina Sara Bodendorfer

Hermina Sara “Minnie” Bodendorfer, 86, of Salem passed away, Friday, May 14, 2010 at Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Salem. Sara was born in Salem the daughter of the late George and Sara Grell on November 8, 1923. Mrs. Bodendorfer was a lifetime Salem resident and was involved in the Salem Saxon Club where she held many posts and responsibilities; she attended Emmanuel Lutheran Church and previously worked at Mullins. Survivors include her son David (Cindy) Bodendorfer of Salem, a daughter Rebecca (Michael) Withers of Salem, 10 grandchildren; Dana, Derrick, Jacob, Shawn, Mindy, Ashley, Patrick, Erin, Brandon and Jesse, 8 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, a sister Sue Fritzman of Salem and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her foster parents Michael and Susana Herman, her husband Rudolph F. Bodendorfer, an infant son and a brother George. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, May 21, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Grandview Cemetery in Salem with Pastor Alan Smearsoll officiating. Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home.
