Homer Jonas Wayne, 78, of Alliance, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2010 at Timken Mercy Medical Center in Canton. Homer was born in Guilford Lake on June 12, 1931 the son of the late Harold L. and Emaline (Murray) Wayne. Mr. Wayne graduated from Alliance High School in the class of 1950 and attended the Dundalk Community College in Baltimore Maryland; and served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Homer worked as an electrician for American Steel till 1975 and Burden Electric; he also was the owner of HK Paper from 1978 to 1991 and recently retired from being the supervisor of court workers for Judge Lavery. Homer was a member of the William Penn Club, Alliance Elks, Alliance VFW and American Legion, and a life member of the Dante Club. Survivors include his two daughters; Sandra (Thomas) Harlan of Yorktown, VA, Linda Kay (Charles) Haiduc of Canton, a son Larry J. (Gena) Wayne of Newnan, GA, four grandchildren; Melissa (Gary) Trompower, Fred Harlan, Charles Haiduc II, Samuel Harlan, a step granddaughter Katlyn “Allie” Byrd, two great grandchildren, Gary and Dakota Trompower and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Clara Susan Wayne, three brothers; Lewis, Henry and Charles and a sister Clara Wayne. A Funeral Service will be held at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 12:00 PM with Pastor Joe Peters officiating. Visitation will be the hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery in Sebring.
