Howard "Bud" Iden

Howard L. “Bud” Iden, 86, of East Rochester, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2013 at his home. He was born on September 30, 1926, in Greenup, Illinois, the son of the late Loyal and Ruth (Leggett) Iden. Bud was an avid hunter and fisherman he loved all of the shooting sports including shooting trap. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army in the European theater. Howard was a carpenter before going to work at the Chrysler Corporation in the early 1960’s, retiring as a foreman in the shipping department in the 1980’s. Bud also served on the Beloit volunteer fire department. Bud is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marguerite Ruth (McDonald) Iden, whom he married on June 20, 1948; his children, Carol Lee McClish of East Rochester, Lee (Darlene) Iden of East Rochester, Paul Iden of Boardman, Jodene (Lewis) Shafer of Sebring; eight grandchildren Arthur & Jason McClish, Timothy & Joseph McIntosh, Dan Iden, Deadra Iden Eichner, Heather & Lewis Shafer; eleven great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Gayle Norton of New Alexander, Ohio and a brother Veryl Iden of Minerva. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Lowell and Robert Iden, nephews Lowell and Mike Iden, son-in-law Richard McClish, brother-in-law Bill Norton, his mother and father-in-law Mary and Arthur McDonald and his beloved dog Mac. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Bud’s honor to Salem Hunting Club PO Box 800, Salem, OH 44460.
