Howard W. Livingston 86, of Salem died Sunday morning, April 6th at Salem Community Hospital. Howard was born in Marshall County, WV the son of the late John W. and Gladys (Ingersoll) Livingston. Howard graduated from A.S. High School in Chicago, IL and Greer College of Chicago. Mr. Livingston was in WWII in the 37th Tank Battalion of the 4th Armored Division and was a Communications Chief. He attended Steubenville Business College, Coyne Electrical School, sailed on Great Lakes ships as 3rd and 2nd assistant engineer. Howard also attended Marine Engineering School at U.S.M.S.T.S. Sheepshead Bay, NY and had LT. Commission in The Maritime Service. Howard later was employed as electrician at Foot Mineral in Mingo Junction, OH and from 1970 to 1986 as electrician at General Motors FAB Plant in Lordstown, OH retiring in August of 1986. Surviving are his wife DeLois (Seaton) of Salem, a son David (UnSim) Livingston of Colorado Springs, CO, a daughter Linda Moore of Guilford Lake, a stepson Charles (Teri) Powell of Oregon, two stepdaughters Tina (Michael) Powell Filbert of Salem, Loretta Shearer of Arizona, two sisters Billie June Hess of Gulf Shores, AL and Eileen Casey of Tucson, AZ and wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Wayne of Brilliant, OH, Ira of Moundsville, WV Harold of Texas, Bobby of AL and a grandson Jeremy Laws. Services will be held at the Real Life Church, Assembly of God in Salem on Friday, April 11th at 11:00AM with Pastor Carl Hayes officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8PM. Burial will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, OH.
