Howard E. Marlo, 86 of North Benton, passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Akron City Hospital. Howard was born in St. Louis, MO on July 22, 1923 the son of the late Edward Joseph and Rose (Gebhardt) Marlo. Mr. Marlo worked in the insurance business and was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Sebring; he volunteered at Salem Hospital and for Meals on Wheels, he was also a member of Toast Masters and was an avid golfer. He will be remembered for his traditional e-mail sign off âDad, Hal, Uncle Hal, Howard, Grandpa,Poppy, Great Grandpa and all around Good Guyâ. Survivors include his wife Agatha âToniâ (Selka) Marlo whom he married on June 19, 1948, a son Greg Marlo of Northfield, OH, a daughter Paula Hunter of Savannah, GA, a son Geoff (Gloria) Marlo of Beloit, a son Neil Marlo of Charlotte, NC, a daughter Karen Marlo of Stow, OH, daughter Lisa Weiss of Northfield, OH, and a daughter Maria (David Williams) Marlo of Northfield. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; Christine Sigman, Geoffrey Marlo, Anthony Demos, Matthew Demos, Jason Marlo and Betheny Marlo and 5 great grandchildren; Derek, Austin,Logan,Isabelle and MacKenzie and a sister Terri Dotts of Orange,CA. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at St. Ann Catholic Church in Sebring at 2PM. Friends may call at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home on Friday, May 28, 2010 from 12-2PM and 6-8PM.
