Iris E. (Stoffer) Behner, 85, of Beloit passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Salem Community Hospital. Iris was born in Homeworth, Ohio on July 24, 1927 the daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Liber) Stoffer. She attended Goshen School and was a clerk at Ashtonâs Five & Ten. Iris was a member of the North Georgetown Lutheran Church, a 64 year member of the George D. Worth American Legion Auxiliary #574, and was a Cadet Girl Scout Leader for three years. Survivors include; two daughters, Gloria Behner, Lana (Robert) Schroeder both of Alliance; a son Kenneth (Janice) Behner of Alliance; 8 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, 5 Great Great Grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harold E. Behner, whom she married on April 24, 1945, two brothers Robert and Frank âJuniorâ, three sisters, Mildred Woolf, Gladys Caufield, and Velma Glass and a grandson Ed Simones. Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 18, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Rev. Carolyn Wager-Hier officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday August 17, 2012 from 6-8 PM. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park in Beloit. Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home.
