Isabelle Ruth Miller, 94 of Beloit, passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Alliance Community Hospital. Mrs. Miller was born in Alliance on February 13, 1917 the daughter of the late John J. and Anna (Yoder) Zumbrunnen; she graduated from Alliance High School and the Alliance Business College. Isabelle was a member of the First Immanuel United Church of Christ in Alliance, an over 50 plus year member of the Lexington Grange, a member of the Sebring and Science Hill Historical Societies (where she was active in the restoration of the Science Hill one room schoolhouse) and before her marriage she worked as a secretary for Transue and Williams. Survivors include her children; Richard (Kay) Miller of Salem, Edward (Marie) Miller of Homeworth, Janice (Bill) Martin of Seneca, SC, Roger (Donna) Miller, Ron Miller, Jay Miller and John (Marla) Miller all of Beloit. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harry E. Miller whom she married on December 29, 1946 and died on June 17, 2003, three sisters; Marie Newburn, Clara Zumbrunnen, Martha Glass, a brother Norman Zumbrunnen, an infant sister and her granddaughter Jennifer Miller Baker. The family would like to thank Isabelle’s caregivers Dr. Kuentz, Alliance Visiting Nurses, the Beloit Rescue Squad and a special thanks to Judy Honeycutt and Tammy Leonard. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 25, 2011 at First Immanuel United Church of Christ in Alliance at 12PM with Pastor Neal Mann officiating. Friends may call at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home on Thursday, from 6-8 PM and 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Science Hill or Sebring Historical Societies or the First Immanuel UCC. Friends may send condolences and sign the guest register online at www.grfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home.
