Iva Richards

Iva “Mae” Richards, 80, of Ravenna, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2011 at Longmeadow Care Center in Ravenna. Mrs. Richards was born in Tyler County, West Virginia on January 20, 1931 the daughter of the late Charles and Estelle (Minger) Dennis; she was a graduate of Tyler county High School and the Bohecker’s Business College in Ravenna, she worked as a clerk in the Audio Visual Department of Kent State University for 25 years and was a member of the First Church of God in Ravenna where she belonged to the Women of the Church God Group. Survivors include her daughter Sharon (Jan) Hartzell of Deerfield, two sons; David (Jill) Richards of Hilliard, OH, and Paul (Pam) Richards Cooksville, TN. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, a sister Edna Nething of Ravenna and a brother Walter Dennis of New Martinsville, WV. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Donald Richards in 1992 and 6 brothers and sisters. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the Ravenna First Church of God at 1:00PM. Friends may call at the church on Thursday the hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Hartzell Cemetery in Deerfield. Memorial contributions can be made in Mae’s memory to the Ravenna First Church of God 237 New Milford Road, Ravenna, OH 44266.
