Ivan Higgins

Ivan O. Higgins, 73, of Sebring passed away on February 21, 2010 at Crandall Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Higgins was born in Columbiana Co., on May 19, 1936, the son of the late Ralph and Pearl (Woods) Higgins Skelding. Mr. Higgins was employed by the former Royal China Co. He was an avid card player and enjoyed the outdoors as well as working at the local taverns as a bartender. Survivors include his 2 daughters; Trina Higgins of Alliance; and Teresa Shields of Alliance, 2 sons; Clancy (Lynn) Higgins of Alliance, Clint (Lisa) Higgins of Sebring, and daughter-in-law Darlene Higgins of Sebring, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by 1 brother; Joe (Dot) Skelding Jr. and a sister Peg Thomas. Mr. Higgins was preceded by his parents and adoptive parents, Clyde and Vanita Berry, 2 sons; Casey and Cordell Higgins; 3 brothers; Bud, Glenn and William Higgins and 2 sisters; Lucille and Mildred. Per Mr. Higgins request his body will be cremated. Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home in Sebring is handling the arrangements.
