Ivan M. Riggar, age 83, of Sebring, passed away at 6:25 PM Thursday December 13, 2007 at Crandall Medical Center. He was born in Oliphant, PA on October 13 1924 to the late James H. and Harriet (Dennis) Riggar. Ivan was a member of the Sebring United Methodist Church where he was active in the church choir. He was a graduate of the Georges Twp. High School in Fairchance, PA, class of 1942. Ivan was an Insurance agent for 22 years for the Prudential Ins. Co, retiring in 1986. He was a former meat cutter for 20 years for the Union Supply Co in PA, and for ACME in Kent Ohio. He was a member of the Senior Citizens chorus in Alliance. Mr. Riggar served his country in the Navy during WWII. Ivan is survived by his wife Lois I. (Cramer) Riggar whom he married on April 12, 1950. He is also survived by his daughter Sharon Heck of Alliance; 1 sister Aldene Yothers of Mt. Pleasant, PA; 1 granddaughter Kimberly (Edward) Stanley of Sebring and 1 granddaughter-in- law Holly Jo Heck of Beloit. Mr. Riggar is preceded in death by his parents; 1 son Greg Riggar on 10-17-1978; 1 sister Camilla Bailey; 1 brother Arthur B. Riggar and 1 grandson Joseph Heck on 11-4-2003. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, December 17, at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Rev. Eric Martin and Pastor Joy Blaney officiating. Friends may call 2 hours prior to the service.
