James (Jim) Blake

James (Jim) Blake passed away on Friday October 24, 2014 at his home surrounded by his friends and family. Jim was the son of the late Warnard and Dorothy (Fonner) Blake, and a lifelong resident of the area. A graduate of Sebring High School, he is survived by his wife Karen ( Sue) Adams whom he married on November 22,1963, a son, Keven (Patti) Blake of Bay Village, Ohio and Daughters Kelly Buehler of Pittsburgh and Kristy (Aaron) Grindley of Louisville, Ohio. His seven Grandchildren, Jack Blake, Maggie Blake, Wyatt Grindley, Eva Grindley, Logan Buehler, Liam Buehler and Blake Buehler referred to him as PaPa. Jim is also survived by his sisters Debbie Brickner and Shelia Nezbeth of Sebring. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Greg Blake.

For those that knew Jim, some might say that he was a man of few words but great deeds. Here are a few of the words that encapsulate Jim’s life: Adventurer, Fisherman, Astronomer, Milkman, Browns Fan, Football Player, Baseball Coach, Hunter, Mythologist, Hard Worker, Mower, Dreamer, Thinker, Generous, Pilot, Story Teller, Caring, Bobcat expert, Philanthropist, NASCAR Fan, Gambler, Lucky, Euchre Master, Golfer, Wanderer, Fighter, Knowledgeable, Spiritual, Woodsman, Dog Owner, Traveler, Provider, Mentor, Poet, Lover, Listener, Mountain Man, Confidant, Giver, and Friend

As for his deeds as a husband, father, grandfather and friend, there will never be another like him. While the time that we were blessed to have with Jim has come to an end, his memory, spirit, and heart of gold will continue to inspire us all to be better people.

At the request of the family, a small private service will be conducted in the near future followed by a celebration of his life this summer at the family home on Berlin Lake.
Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home. Friends may send condolences and sign the guest register online at www.grfuneralhome.com.
