James Jimmy Conny, 93 of Sebring, passed away from a broken heart on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at his home. Jimmy was born in Sebring on October 17, 1921 the son of the late Anthony and Beatrice (DeCato) Conny; he attended Sebring High School and was a US Army Veteran he was employed by Morgan Engineering, a foreman for French Saxon and was the co-owner of Connys Dairy Isle in Sebring. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Sebring and enjoyed three loves in his life his wife Jean, his family and the village of Sebring; where he served as the youngest elected councilman at the age of 28 where he served on and off council through 1996. He enjoyed spending time with his family attending various events to support them as well as taking the time to be outdoors working in the yard to keep everything beautiful.
Survivors include his a son James F. (Heidi Jean) Conny of Brunswick, OH, four grandchildren; Andrea Lynn Conny, James Anthony Conny, Ashley Marie Conny, Christan ReNae Conny and four great grandchildren; Sean, Reilley, Adysen and Landon. He is also survived by 2 brothers Tony and Don; and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Sebring at 11:00 AM with Fr. Thomas Dyer officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4:00 PM and the family will be present from 6-8:00PM. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit. Military Honors will be provided by the Salem Honor Guard. Memorial contributions can be made in Jimmys honor to St. Ann Church or the Alliance VNA/Hospice.
