James "Jim" Dorsey

James “Jim” L. Dorsey, 68, of Alliance passed away, Sunday, September 13, 2009 at Aultman Hospital with his family by his side. Jim was born in Alliance on September 3, 1941 the son of the late Emerson and Ardena (Gray) Dorsey; he graduated from Sebring High School and retired as a foreman from Transue and Williams. Jim was a US Air Force veteran and enjoyed golfing, fishing and the outdoors, but he most enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Debra “Debbie” (Madsen) Dorsey whom he married on August 16, 1969, a daughter Christine King, a son Jim Dorsey, and a daughter Shannon (Chris) Zufall, 7 grandchildren; Corey King, Makenzi King, Alexa Dorsey, Nicolette Dorsey, Aden Dorsey, Courtney Zufall and Austin Zufall all of Alliance. He is also survived by a brother Gerald (Gloria) Dorsey of Sebring, 2 sisters; Linda Norman of Salem and Elaine (Bill) Criss of Beloit. Besides his parents Jim was preceded in death by 3 brothers. Services will be held on Thursday, September 17th at the Home Mission Church in Alliance at 11:00 AM with Brother Herbert Smith officiating. Visitation will be held at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-8 PM with the family present from 6-8 PM. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park with Military Honors.
