James P. Gorby, 81 of Salem passed away early Saturday morning, Nov. 13, 2010 at Essex III in Salem. Mr. Gorby was born in Elkton, Ohio on December 7, 1928 the son of the late Charles and Naomi (Crawford) Gorby-French; he graduated from Goshen High School in 1948 and was an enameler at Eljer. James was a member of the AMVETS, loved cooking, working in the garden, his animals and motorcycles. Survivors include two sons; Gregory (Beverly) Gorby of Hanoverton, Dennis (Peggy) Gorby of Salem, two daughters; Bambi (Larry) Sommers of Salem, and Jodi (Greg) Paxson of Salem. He is also survived by two grandsons Jason and Joshua Gorby, one brother Harry Gorby of Salem and a sister Sarah Smith of East Palestine. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Cora âMidgeâ Gorby in 1992 and two brothers; Charles and Wayne. A Funeral Service will be held at Brown Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, November 15th from 6-8 PM.
