James Rogers, 89, beloved husband and father, was called to his eternal resting place on May 18, 2022. He entered this world on January 24, 1933 in Topeka, KS, born to John and Bertha Davison Rogers. He is survived by his wife Wanda Dearth Rogers; daughter Jacqueline K Kibble (Ernie), son Carlos J Rogers (Dee), daughter Norma J Stambaugh (Jimmy), son Frank Egley, daughter Donna J Kohen (Luis), daughter Brenda L Teets (Dennis) son John D Rogers (Joyce) daughter Tami L Herron son Daniel J Egley (Marlene), son Walter E Rogers, son Alan Griffith (Janet), son James Rogers (Gloria), son Tracey R Todd (Leila), Son Charles C Rogers (Lisa), daughter Betty J Wentling (Dan). He is also survived by his beloved pet Bandit.
He is preceded in death by father John Rogers; mother Bertha Puett; son Tim L Rogers and Billy W Todd; a daughter-in-law Charlene Egley; granddaughters Melissa Sparta and Danyale Kibble. James served in the Navy from 1952 to 1960 . James had a very full life. He worked in the oil fields in Kansas and retired after 26 years from General Motors in Lordstown OH.; he also worked at Atlas Van Lines in Topeka KS. He spent his retirement enjoying time with his wife and children, 46 grandchildren, 81 great-grandchildren and 3 great- great grandchildren. He also enjoyed camping, fishing and playing golf. James had many "adopted children" over the years.
A time of visitation will be held on Friday May 20, 2022 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown Funeral Home, Sebring, OH. A graveside service will be held at Rochester Cemetery in Topeka, KS. at a later date. You may sign the guest register and view the obituary at www.grfuneralhome.com.
