James Slider

James F. Slider, 73, of Deerfield, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Community Care Center of Alliance. James was born on July 30, 1939, the son of the late Slathiel Henry and Velma (Hoover) Slider, he served as a member of the Army Reserve. A lifelong area resident, he was a member of the American Legion, VFW, and the Teamsters. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, roller skating and spending time with family. Survivors include his son Roy Slider, a brother Jack Slider, four sisters, Jane (Eugene) Stoffer, Alice Moore, Anna Gambone, Doris (Robert) Ruth. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by life companion Sue Chick, and three brothers, Jay Karlen, Wayne Karlen and Roy Karlen. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 5:30 PM at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Kimball officiating. Friends may call from 5-5:30 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
