Janet A. French of Sebring, Ohio was escorted into Paradise by God's Heavenly Angels on Jan. 7th, 2014. Janet was born January 10, 1931 in Sebring, Ohio. She was the youngest of six daughters of Glenn and Agnes Pettit. Surviving sisters are Glenna Emery and Jane Rummel of Alliance, Ohio and 3 sisters who have passed previously, Eileen Bandy, Willetta Bansberg and Jeraldine McClure. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Janet graduated from Sebring McKinley High School in 1949. She married the love of her life, Charles O. French, on Aug. 10, 1950. Janet and Charles have 3 children, Bonnie C. Mitschele of Livingston, N.J.(Ralph), Rev. Barry C. French (Sharon) of Akron, Ohio, and Bruce C. French (Susan) of Columbus, Ohio and South African son, Peter Jardine(Linda) as well as one infant child, Barbara who passed at 3 days of age. Grandchildren are Kyle Mitschele(Kate), Christopher French(Megan), Kristin Avila(Mynor), Collette Dimos(Matthew), Brian French, Jason French and Kaitlyn Mitschele. Great-Grandchildren are Samantha French, Cameron Dimos, Taylor French, Jane Mitschele and Graeme French.
Janet owned her own business for years: French's Lady Apparel in Beloit, Ohio. She also worked 17 years in the Trust Dept. for Bank One in Alliance, Ohio and later on Akron, Ohio. She enjoyed Crocheting and made over 100 afghans during her life, all of them made with love. Janet was a member of The Sebring Church of Christ during her youth and was also active member of The Eastern Stars as a youth. The past sixty years she has been an active member of The Sebring Church of the Nazarene. Janet's family notes she was the most loving/giving lady God ever placed on the earth. She possessed a million dollar smile and she will be missed by everyone. To know her was to love her.
Calling hours will be from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon, on Sat. morning, Jan. 11, 2014 at The Sebring Church of the Nazarene and Funeral service to follow at the church at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers the family requests in memory of Janet to contribute to Alliance VNA/Hospice or to The Sebring Church of the Nazarene.
