Janet Harris Reynolds, 86, of Sebring and formerly of Kent died Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at Crandall Medical Center. Janet was born on March 20, 1922 in New Waterford, Ohio the daughter of the late Percy and Mary (Koch) Harris. She graduated from Ravenna High School in 1940 and Kent State University in 1944 where she was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority, the Cardinal Key Women’s League and the American Women’s Volunteer Service. Mrs. Reynolds married Willard C. Reynolds in 1945 and was employed by Kent State University School of Speech retiring in 1980, she was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kent, Ohio and was a member of the “Sisters of Rebecca”, in 1992 she moved to Copeland Oaks and while living there she enjoyed and was proud of her volunteer work in the Copeland Library, she also loved to travel all over the state of Ohio with her family and friends and when she could she shared her great musical talents with all. Janet is survived by her son, David Reynolds of Homeworth, a daughter Gwen Birkner of Alliance and a granddaughter Jennifer Reynolds of Kent. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Willard on Oct. 15, 1993 and a brother Tom Harris. A Private Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 23, 2009, at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Beth Nierman officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery in Canton.
