Jean (Smith) Moffett, 90, of Beloit passed away peacefully on Tuesday December 22, 2015, after suffering a stroke. She was born October 5, 1925 to Ralph and Maud (Greenawalt) Smith in Wellsville, Ohio.

Jean married the late Jack Moffett on October 8, 1950. They had been married 27 years.

During WWII, Jean was very proud to have worked for Curtiss-Wright until the war had ended. Jean then went to work in East Liverpool for Ohio Bell as a telephone operator. She then transferred to the Alliance Ohio Bell where she became a supervisor. She then finished out her time in the the workplace at Gromoll Drug Store in Sebring. She loved being there for 38 years. She especially loved her vacations that she planned with Pat and Donna whom she worked with.

Jean is a graduate of Wellsville High School. She was a lifetime member of the Wellsville Chapter of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the previous Westville Congregational Church.

Spending time with family and friends brought such joy to Jean. She loved camping for many years and was also an avid bingo player. Christmas was one of her favorite holidays, wanting to spend time with family.

Jean is survived by her Daughters Michelle(Ed) Davner of Damascus and Kelley Moffett of Beloit, Grandson Mark Gaver, of North Carolina, whom she raised, 4 Grandchildren and 4 Great-Grandchildren.

Besides her Parents and her late Husband, she was preceded in death by her 2 Brothers, David Smith and Ralph Smith, Granddaughter Jamie Lynn Gaver and close friend Allen Campbell.   There will be no services as this was Jean’s wishes upon cremation.
